Go up! Everyone knows about the Eiffel Tower, but there are many other places where you’ll get a stunning view of Paris. The Arc de Triomphe and Notre Dame are probably the best. Some are even free like the Montmartre hill in front of the Sacre Coeur Cathedral or the terraces of two department stores Printemps and Gallerie Lafayette.
Paris is filled with beautiful gardens, and all make an unbelievably romantic setting. Luxembourg Gardens, in particular, is a great spot for couples, and is adjacent to the breathtaking Luxembourg Castle. The Parc des Buttes-Chaumont, Park Montsouris and Park Monceau are the perfect romantic settings where you can have a picnic or just relax in each others arms.
A short train ride away, visit the luxurious Chateau de Versailles, the elaborate palace of the notorious Sun King. Be sure to take a bottle of wine and a snack of baguettes and cheese to nibble in its famous gardens.
In the evening, Paris is at its best. The magic continue throughout the night. Spend the night in the famous restaurant or a typical French cafe, take the boat along the river, watch the French cabaret, or listen to some of the best jazz. Maybe it’s just another romantic walk along the river.
River Seine walks and places are probably the most romantic in Paris. Western tip of the Ile-de-la-Cité all day long, Western tip of the Ile-St-Louis by night and Pont des Arts at sunset, are probably the best places for couples to experience a true romance.
The Pont des Arts is a wooden pedestrian bridge which leads to the Louvre and has the most amazing views of Paris. A little wine, a little baguette and cheese, the sun setting on the Seine…romance in Paris doesn’t have to cost a fortune.
Paris is said to be the most romantic city in the world, however, here are a few ideas for making Paris even more unbearably romantic than it already is.
