Impressive, isn’t it!

I always had a bit of a cosmopolitan bent to me and this manifested itself in my love for languages. I started to learn French at the age of 4 and English at the age of 10. During high school I learned Latin that was not too useful for communicating with living people, but extremely useful as a basis for learning other Latin based languages. I later learned few Spanish words and phrases while working in Costa del Sol, as well as 10 lessons in Italian, from ”Italian in 100 Lesson’’.

Living and working in Russia, made me learn a few words in Russian, while holidays in Greece made me a pro in Greek words related to ordering food. Language skills open many doors, and connecting with people in their own language, provides much greater access and a deeper understanding of that culture.

After high school I decided to enroll at the University of Tourism in Belgrade, and finished it in a record time, eager to explore more countries. My first 8 years were spent working as a representative and a guide for various tour operators in Croatia, Slovenia, Serbia, Spain and French skiing resorts.

Then I switched and worked for a courier company TNT Skypak in marketing research, sales and advertising, as well as a trainer and recruiter, and in a short time climbing the corporate ladder and becoming one of the managers.

In 1995, after being on the road, with the company, (Israel, Caribbean Islands, USA, Kenya, Ivory Coast, Russia) I decided to retire from the corporate world. Don’t get me wrong, it was fantastic. Just imagine being able to combine work with free travel to some of the most amazing destinations in the world.

Living in Africa was a dream and visiting Caribbean island was a another dream came true. During the holidays I’ve also visited South Africa, Asia and Australia. Was I home sick, not at all, by then experiencing many new cultures, I have truly became a citizen of the world. Travel became addiction and I have difficulty settling into one place for to long.

At this moment I have met my future husband, got a wonderful boy and spent more time at home. Our first 5 years were spent in England, which was too long for me and I was ready to move again. This time a long way across Atlantic to Florida (it seemed nice and sunny, comparing with England) where I learned about real estate and investment and apply my long lost thirst for interior decoration, on my own properties.

You probably guesses right, that after 8 years in Florida, it was time to move again. We have chosen Paris as our base. Paris and its unique multicultural ambience, have had a significant impact on my life, ever since I’ve visited it in 1979. It is the place where every brick inspire, and that’s where the idea of getting my own travel web site was born. Paris alone is a fascinating destination and it’s a perfect place to venture further afield and discover other countries. The idea is to travel more and share my experiences with all of you.

I am also a bit of a semi-pro photographer, trying to capture those special moments, to be remembered and treasured for the future. They are a part of this web site as well as my art site www.BellonGallery.com, where you can discover and purchase my paintings, ceramics and much more.

I am very excited to embark on this journey and hope to share some interesting experiences, images and stories with you. I am  back into the field that I’ve always loved. Travel is my passion and it means so many things: beautiful landscapes, art and architecture, history, traditions, fantastic food, music, festivities and wonderful new friendships.

My goal is to encourage others to explore the planet and to experience its beauty and uniqueness, to connect with people from other places and to get to know them. This discovery and sharing of experiences is going to be a long-term endeavor and I hope to inspire others to do the same.

  1. Good question.... I grew up a tomboy with a bit of a rebellious streak in Serbia (Ex Yugoslavia) where I spent the first 25 years of my life. Before the age of 25, I had traveled to about 15 countries which is not all that difficult, considering that the distances are small in Europe.

  2. Ever since I was little I have had a fascination with foreign cultures. My parents introduced me to the wonders of Ancient Greece and Rome and many other places.
